Description:
Pneumatic locating cylinder, conical version, Form A, for rapid and precise positioning and fastening of tooling and base plates.

Material:
- Housing and clamping cylinder: carbon steel.
- Balls: stainless steel 1.0503.

- Housing hardened and black oxidised.
- Contact faces ground.

Function / System Information:
- The pneumatic positioning and clamping system consists of locating cylinders and locating bushes.
- The three clamping balls are mechanically released via the 'opening' connection; the balls move inward so the fixture can be exchanged quickly.
- For clamping, air is removed from the 'opening' connection and applied to the 'clamping' connection so the balls are mechanically driven outward again.
- For optimum retaining force, the locating cylinder remains connected to the air.
- If the air supply fails, the wedge mechanism and springs prevent a sudden reduction in clamping force.
- Spring-only clamping force: D1 70 mm = 1.2 kN; D1 85 mm = 1.8 kN.
- The support-control air connection checks that the locating bush is seated correctly on the locating cylinder.
- Repeat accuracy: 3 um.
- Two system sizes are available.
- Form A provides tapered/conical centring; Form C provides cylindrical clamping.
- The system is particularly suitable for installation in fixtures such as plates and clamping tower blocks, in all mounting positions.
- The modular design allows the quantity and spacing of locating cylinders to be matched to the clamping task; the small diameters permit reduced spacing.

- D6 is the through hole for a DIN 912 socket head screw.
